Global Digital Trust Awards 2026: DIDAS Helps Shape the Awards and Invites the Swiss Ecosystem to Participate

Submit your Digital Trust project by 20 August. The winners will be announced on 3 September at the Global Digital Collaboration Conference in Geneva.

Verifiable Credentials, digital wallets and trust services are moving into real-world deployment around the world, and Switzerland is among the frontrunners. As one of six co-organising associations, DIDAS has helped shape the Global Digital Trust Awards 2026. The Awards recognise real-world implementations that advance Digital Trust, and the winners will be honoured on 3 September at the Global Digital Collaboration Conference (GDC) in Geneva.

Why DIDAS Is Helping Shape the Awards

DIDAS is one of the organising associations and is actively contributing to the initiative, ensuring that every submission and its key learnings are shared across all participating ecosystems. As our contribution, we are proposing a fifth category, Business Value, to recognise implementations that create clear and measurable value for organisations and their users. We stand for a clear approach to digital identity and verifiable data: data sovereignty and privacy by design, enabling individuals and organisations to retain control over their own data. In Switzerland, this approach is becoming tangible. The national e-ID and its trust infrastructure are taking shape and are providing credible practical examples that can be shared internationally.

Together with DIACC (Canada), TeleTrusT (Germany), the Asia PKI Consortium, APDI and FIDES, we are bringing your work to the international stage. Within the ID Associations group, DIDAS contributes the Swiss perspective on sovereignty, privacy and interoperability to an open, global initiative. Every submission will become part of open resources from which all participating ecosystems can learn.

Switzerland’s Role in Digital Trust

Switzerland brings a long-standing tradition of trust to this field. Its reputation for privacy, stability and neutrality, its strong data-protection culture and its role as the home of numerous international organisations make it a natural environment for the growth of Digital Trust. The Swiss e-ID is embedded in the country’s democratic process, while an increasingly active ecosystem of research institutions, public authorities and private companies is already experimenting with practical services. The award ceremony in Geneva will place this work at the centre of international attention.

Key Information at a Glance

• Four categories: Best Wallet, Adoption, Collaboration and Social Impact.
• DIDAS proposal: A fifth category, Business Value, for solutions that create measurable business and economic value while adhering to core Digital Trust principles.
• Free and open worldwide. Organisations can participate from anywhere. Attendance in Geneva is optional.
• Real-world implementations only: Submissions must demonstrate genuine interactions between an issuer, a wallet and a verifier. A full production deployment is not required.
• Evaluation: 50% international expert jury and 50% community voting.
• Submission deadline: 20 August 2026. Award ceremony: 3 September 2026 at the GDC in Geneva.

DIDAS President Daniel Saeuberli will represent our community on the international expert jury, alongside jury members from each partner association.
